Alamgeer Black Salt (also called Himalayan Black Salt and Beet Noon) isn’t really black. It is in fact a shade of pink. If you want to go for the Himalayan pink salt, which has recently been in fashion, know that black salt has a very similar composition as the pink salt because black salt is essentially processed pink salt. Alamgeer Black Salt is guaranteed to give you a distinctive sulphurous and smokey taste and smell. This salt is normally not used for cooking. Sprinkle this over your cut fruit chaat to enhance the flavour.
